Just last week YouTube announced that there entire video library will be available in the vr experience with the use of Google cardboard. YouTube has been supporting 360 degree videos for a little while now. But the update will bring the ability to watch with a supported Google cardboard device. Google and key creators have been said to be working on some videos to take advantage of this tech but it is unclear whether this will catch on. While there video library will be available to be watched in the vr experience you will not be able to look around like what can be done on a 360 degree video. As the original content was not recorded in the same way that a 360 degree one is. If you like the sound of this the android app is already updated and the feature is working. I have just tried it out and can say the controls are intuitive and the experience is really cool. Weather we will see it catch on is one thing but for now it is an interesting feature and I can’t wait to see what creators will do with this tech.
