With every day passing we get more and more smart wearables if we like it or not. Whether they are smart watches like the moto 360, fitness trackers like the fit bit or just random other things that supposedly enhance out lives. But many people have not heard or even used one of these and they do ask do we need these at all? For me I use a smart watch  bringing notifications and health information to my wrist. I have been using this tech for a number of months now and when I have to wear a non smart watch it is very difficult to get through the day with no glanceable information. Many other people are also experiencing this and I feel that as soon as the apple watch is available to order there will be a mass surge in this category. Weather the apple watch will be the be all and end all is still to be seen but with such a large company jumping in it will be only a matter of time. Many will still ask though do we really need such a large selection when shopping for a smart wearable device? And in short the answer is yes. If we have one company making smart watches and 1 making bands then prices will be through the roof. We need more companies to make these devises as they all put their own spin on the device and they all will fight for your money by bringing down the price. We have seen this with the android eco system. If there was only 1 company making android phones then we may have never got an a htc one type of device or we would have never got a waterproof phone. It is because there is such diversity in the ecosystem that we see real improvements. this can also be applied to the wearable space. Ones these first gen devices are behind us and multi day battery life is a thing then we will start to see much more wide adoption for these little devices.
