Launching new smart phones can be tough on companies. We have seen big names try to do it and fail miserably, while other start-ups make it look easy to bring a new and different approach to the design field. One small start-up has popped up on Kickstarter that has really caught the attention of many and that is the Ubik uno.

The Ubik uno packs a large 5.5 inch display with a 1080p resolution a 64bit 8 core media tek processor, a 20mp camera by Sony a 5 megapixel selfie cam and a 3100 mAh battery, 16gb of storage and expandable storage with 3gb of ram. All this does not sound to special with many other pones on the market offering this already. However, it is how the phone is designed that makes it different. This phone is packing an edge-to-edge display with almost zero bezel and an extremely low price tag of only $299 on Kickstarter with a retail price of only $345.

The company ubik owned by Korean mobile manufacture vitsmo, who are making some good moves here with this phone. If this phone is a success the plans for designing future phones by democracy looks bright as they are taking feedback and suggestions from the community. They are also very active and prompt to answer questions submitted by the community with detailed and informative answers.

Overall, this looks to be one sharp phone design by the community, my only worry with a new start up company is, the software support and what will happen then. Nevertheless, for now it is cool a looking device for a low price and packs a punch in the performance department.
